It was a lovely weekend for an Asparagus Fest. I’m sorry more of you couldn’t turn out for what was a very pleasant event filled with good conversation, ample laughter, lots of sunshine and garden flowers and some very fine food and wine.
A highlight for me was Kevin and Sherri’s galette made with asparagus (of course) goat cheese, prosciutto and caramelized onions on a very flaky pastry-like dough. Also very interesting and delicious was Margot’s soup that was garnished with wild rice.
I prepared a frittata, a standby dish for this occasion, as well as a wheatberry and aspargus salad. I’ll supply the recipe subsequently.
For those of you who prepared a dish: please send me (or the list) your recipes and I will compile and publish them like last year.
